I have a load of ESPHome presence sensors and they’re great. Work really well.
I do use the light sensor in automations in home assistant but find it to not be very sensitive at the lower end. For example, in the evening with room lighting set to be a little dimmer, the lux readings are in the low single digits. It’s at these levels that I have my automations checking for lower light levels. The difference in having some lamps on/off might only be from 0.5 lux to 1 Lux.
I’m wondering if there’s any type of adjustment of the light sensor in the config. Eg I was wondering if there’s some kind of software controllable amplification of the light sensor at lower levels. Not worried about sensitivity at high levels.
Maybe you can try the calibrate_linear filter
https://esphome.io/components/sensor/index.html#calibrate-linear
I don't think it exists and in all matters usually under 10/5% it's not advised to use as you are in limits of led !
