I like the Athom controllers as they are neatly packaged and well built, but I would like to have 6+ channels for driving larger installations. I see that an older ESP32C3-based unit https://www.athom.tech/blank-1/wled-rgbcct-analog-and-digital-light-strip-controller has 6 channels for 5x PWM 5050 LED channels plus a single SPI channels and was wondering if all of these are suitable for use with SPI strips? I heard that the latest Ethernet-based controller https://www.athom.tech/blank-1/ethernet-wled-esp32-addressable-dmx-led-strip-controller has only 4 level-shifted outputs and using the extra DMX channels for SPI-LEDs would lead to flickering due to the below-spec 3.3V voltage on those outputs. Obviously external level-shifters are an option but it becomes messy. I would also like to understand if the boards can trigger external 5V DC relays, as the power handling at 5V can easily exceed 16A once we get >2000 LEDs. An external trigger output would solve this issue and prevent high idle power draw. Otherwise I may chain the relay trigger onto the regular 5V output as I know the controllers' outputs often include relays.
