Local Smart Garage Door Control
Upgrade your existing garage door opener with local ESPHome control and Home Assistant integration.
This controller uses an ESP32-C3 Wi-Fi chip and can operate a compatible garage door opener through a momentary relay pulse. With a connected door-position sensor, you can also view whether the garage door is open or closed in real time.
The default firmware supports Bluetooth Proxy, allowing the device to forward nearby Bluetooth Low Energy signals to Home Assistant and improve Bluetooth coverage around your home.

ESPHome and Home Assistant
The controller integrates directly with Home Assistant through the ESPHome native API.
You can create automations such as:
Open the garage door from the Home Assistant dashboard
Close the door automatically after a scheduled time
Send an alert when the door remains open
Show the current door status on a wall tablet
Close the garage door when everyone leaves home
Trigger lights or cameras when the door opens

ESPHome YAML configuration can be customized to match your garage door opener, sensor type and preferred automation logic.
Built-in Bluetooth Proxy
The default firmware enables Bluetooth Proxy mode.
When connected to Wi-Fi, the ESP32-C3 can relay supported nearby Bluetooth Low Energy devices to Home Assistant. This makes the controller useful as both a garage door controller and a Bluetooth coverage point.

Bluetooth Proxy availability depends on the installed firmware and the device’s network connection.
Garage Door Control
The relay output is designed for garage door openers that accept a momentary wall-button or push-button signal.
The controller can be configured to send a short pulse to simulate pressing the original garage wall switch. The exact open, close and stop behavior depends on the garage door opener’s control logic.
A compatible wired door-position sensor can be connected to provide open/closed feedback.
USB Firmware Flashing with CH340C
The built-in CH340C USB-to-serial chip allows direct firmware flashing through the USB connection.
You can use the USB interface to:
Install ESPHome firmware
Replace or customize the firmware
Recover the device
View serial logs during setup
Test configuration changes
A separate USB-to-serial adapter is not required.
ESPHome OTA updates can also be used after the controller has been connected to Wi-Fi.

Compatibility Check
Before installation, confirm that your garage door opener supports a simple momentary wall-button or dry-contact input.
A compatible opener normally has low-voltage terminals for an external wall switch. Openers using proprietary encrypted buses or special digital wall panels may require an additional interface or may not be compatible.

Installation Overview
Power off the garage door opener before wiring.
Connect the relay contacts to the opener’s wall-button terminals.
Install the magnetic or reed sensor on the garage door and frame.
Power the ESPHome controller.
Connect it to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Add the device to Home Assistant through ESPHome.
Configure the relay pulse time and door-status logic.
The exact wiring and configuration depend on the garage door opener model and the selected sensor.

Important Safety Information
Use the controller only with the low-voltage wall-button terminals of a compatible garage door opener.
Do not connect the relay directly to 110 V or 220 V mains power.
Disconnect power before wiring or modifying the garage door opener.
Follow the opener manufacturer’s wiring instructions.
Keep the original safety sensors and emergency-release mechanism fully functional.
A door-position sensor must be installed and adjusted correctly for reliable open/closed status.
Remote access outside the home requires a properly configured Home Assistant remote-access method.
This product is an automation accessory. It is not a replacement for the garage door opener’s built-in safety system.
